    About Blueprint Schools Network (“Blueprint”)

Founded in 2010, Blueprint Schools Network is a national nonprofit organization that promotes educational equity and improves life outcomes for students by partnering with states, districts, and schools to plan, implement, and monitor school improvement initiatives.

Blueprint’s approach to rapidly improving student achievement at low-performing public schools is grounded in a framework of five core strategies that emerged through analyses of the attributes that drive student achievement and represent common elements of schools capable of closing the achievement gap. When implemented together, these strategies form a comprehensive and evidence-based framework for transforming the way schools operate either through our Blueprint Math Fellows Program or a customized whole-school improvement strategy.

Our culture and partnerships are defined by talented and mission-driven people who value students’ first, integrity, sustainable results, diversity, collaboration and humility.

About the Blueprint Math Fellows Program

The Blueprint Math Fellows program delivers targeted and intensive small group academic intervention in mathematics during the regular school day. Math Fellows (tutors) work with a maximum of four students per session. This allows for small group and individualized instruction and is designed to purposefully address gaps in foundational mathematics knowledge while building students’ ability to problem solve and think critically. The instruction that students receive in tutorial is supplemental and connected to what students are learning in their primary math class. In middle and high school, these tutorial sessions are built into the master schedule as an “elective” or additional math enrichment block. Thus, Fellows will lead five to six tutorial sessions each day based upon each school’s schedule.

In August 2016, Blueprint launched a partnership with Oakland Unified School District to implement the Blueprint Math Fellows Program. In the current academic year, the program has 18 full-time Math Fellows serving more than 450 students in seven middle schools. The Math Fellows are an integral part of the school experience, helping build a culture of high expectations for the students they serve. In addition to Oakland (CA), Blueprint is currently implementing the Math Fellows Program in East St Louis School District 189 (IL).
